About HolidayAtlas
HolidayAtlas is a reference site. It publishes public holiday tables and working-day tools for 43 countries, and nothing else.
Where the data comes from
All holiday tables are compiled from the Nager.Date public dataset, an open compilation that traces each holiday back to the government body that published it: the Office of Personnel Management in the United States, state governments in Germany, the State Council in China, and their equivalents elsewhere. The dataset used for this build was pulled on 26 October 2026, and each country page carries that date.
How updates work
Holiday lists change by decree, so the tables are rebuilt from the source dataset rather than edited by hand. One-off holidays added for a single year appear in rebuilds after governments publish them. If you spot a date that disagrees with an official notice, tell us through the contact page and name the notice. Corrections backed by an official source go into the next rebuild.
What the data does not cover
- Regional and city holidays below national level, except where a government publishes them nationally.
- School holidays, which follow education calendars, not public holiday law.
- China's swapped weekend workdays in the calculator, a gap the relevant guide explains in full.
