Is a date a working day?
China: rescheduled weekend workdays (调休补班) are not in the underlying lists, so China counts use the plain Monday-to-Friday rule. Around Spring Festival the official calendar will differ. The guide on China's swapped weekends walks through a worked example.

Which countries does the calculator cover?
All 43 countries on HolidayAtlas, for 2025, 2026 and 2027. The same dated lists shown on the country pages drive the count, so a result here always matches the table there.
How is a working day counted?
Monday to Friday counts, Saturday and Sunday do not, and a public holiday on a weekday is subtracted. Egypt keeps a Friday-Saturday weekend and the calculator follows that. Both the start and end dates are included. A January 2026 check for the United States gives 20 working days: 22 weekdays minus New Year’s Day and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Does it handle China's rescheduled weekends?
No. China moves some weekend days into the working week around long holidays (调休补班), and this calculator uses the plain Monday-to-Friday rule for China. Counts for China around Spring Festival and National Day will differ from the official work calendar.
Why does my payroll system disagree by a day?
Usually an observed holiday. When a holiday falls on a weekend, many governments shift the day off to Friday or Monday, and payroll rules follow the shift while simple calendars do not.
